Red acne scars are very commonly seen and can be evident as acne pimples resolve. Red scars can be flat, however in some patients red acne scars can also be indented or atrophic or conversely raised or hypertrophic. Red scar occur due to inflammation and formation of new blood vessels. We use a special type of vascular laser called the V Beam Candela laser to target blood vessels. Red scars can be faded by 80% with 3 -4 laser sessions. Laser can also treat lumpy or hypertrophic scarring. Early treatment of red scars can also remodel collagen, reducing further scarring.
